Eleven – day trip through the Southeast quadrant of Yellowstone, bordering Yellowstone Lake and Heart Lake. Trip total 91 miles. Elevation lowest 6900′ to highest 8750′ Day hike to visit geysers including Old Faithful Geyser and those along Fairy Falls Trail (Spray Geyser/Imperial Geyser).
Trip begins at Nine Mile Trailhead ~ hike Thorofare Trail ~ spur trail ~ day hike to Thorofare Ranger Station ~ Boundary Trail – Ford Yellowstone River ~ Lynx Creek ~ Two Ocean Cutoff Trail ~ Trail Creek Trail – Continential Divide Trail ~ Heart Lake Trail ~ Basin Creek Cutoff Trail ~ South Boundary Trail ~ end at South Entrance Road.
